Complex Industrial Facilities

Green Mantra Technologies

Brantford, ON

about this project

Green Mantra's Brantford production plant is a dense, multi-level processing facility with overlapping pipe racks, mezzanines, and structural steel added in phases over many years. Before designing new work platforms and monorail supports here, our team used 3D laser scanning to capture the existing structure as it actually stands today — not as it appears on decades-old drawings. The resulting point cloud let us verify real column spacing, beam elevations, and clearances around existing equipment before a single new member was designed.

  • Millimetre-accurate point cloud capture of interior structural steel, piping, and equipment layout
  • Verified existing conditions against original drawings to catch discrepancies before design
  • Supported design of new monorail and work platform structures with confirmed clearances

Canadian Tire Corporation

Bolton, ON

about this project

At CTC's Bolton distribution centre, our scope covered a fire protection design review tied to warehouse layout changes. With racking, sprinkler mains, and structural steel all competing for the same overhead space, we relied on 3D scanning to document the as-built conditions throughout the racking aisles and ceiling zone. This gave the design team a reliable, measurable reference for coordinating structural and life-safety systems without repeated site visits.

  • Point cloud capture of high-bay racking aisles and overhead sprinkler/structural zones
  • Enabled accurate coordination between fire protection design changes and existing structural steel
  • Reduced field verification trips during an active distribution facility review

Bartek Ingredients Inc.

Stoney Creek, ON

about this project

Bartek's chemical processing facility is one of the most complex sites in our portfolio — a tight industrial plant with platforms, ladders, tanks, and structural steel stacked in three dimensions. Over dozens of individual projects here, from crane supports to blast shell design to new platforms, 3D scanning has become our standard first step: capturing the congested existing structure accurately before adding anything new, in a facility where a missed clearance means a costly field fit-up problem.

  • Repeated point cloud capture across a long-running, multi-project industrial relationship
  • Used to design platforms, ladders, cranes, and equipment supports around existing congestion
  • Point cloud data cross-checked against process equipment locations to avoid conflicts
